  Permanent makeup can and should be very predictable. It should offer you consistent long-lasting benefits. Mother Nature on the other hand can often be quite unpredictable. (Like many of us women our male counterparts would say). At times she seems to have a mind of her own. Hopefully now for people across the country she is thinking enough is enough for cryin’ out loud.

Much of the United States is finally getting a much needed break. Super Storm Sandy sadly wreaked havoc on millions in the Northeast inflicting massive amounts of pain and damage in New Jersey, New York City*, and Connecticut. Now in her aftermath it is the time when strong people are trying to clean up and rise up again to feeling some kind of sense of normalcy.

It’s a much different situation in the Southwestern corner of the U.S. In hot spots where I work such as Phoenix-Scottsdale, AZ and Las Vegas, NV, there are finally signs of long awaited relief from the record-breaking heat. Temperatures apparently forgot to cool off as another summer season officially ended. Just last week, parents and their kids out trick or treating in the Valley of the Sun still got sweaty in Halloween costumes with it still being around 85 degrees at dinner time.

This week I’ve got women coming to me for eyebrow tattoos, permanent eyeliner, and permanent lip makeup saying they don’t want to go through another summer with daily makeup messes like the last one. Now as the time for enjoying the outdoors out west for activities like hiking, biking, tennis, and golf, the women getting these procedures can enjoy freedom this fall and a low maintenance routine with their appearance which saves them plenty of time and effort.

It was interesting to me how a couple of my Manhattan clients who have been through quite a lot lately have let me know they saw their permanent makeup as something of a small silver lining in the wake of Sandy. Without having power and running water in their apartments they claimed they felt better about how they looked going out, not able to do their makeup as they had been accustomed to doing every day, and not having to worry about it either.

One of these women just had her lips done, the other had her eyebrows and eyeliner done. I was scheduled to do their follow-up applications this week but postponed my next Permanent Makeup New York* visit until early December.

You really can enjoy added confidence and convenience with your appearance knowing you won’t have to worry about embarrassing smudges and smears of your makeup, no matter what Mother Nature chooses to do.
